// FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
How do I commission a piece?
Every commission starts with an enquiry through the commissions page. Fill in what you can // the concept, the space it is going into, any references or ideas you have // and a personal response will follow within 48 hours. The concept can be as loose or as detailed as you want. Most commissions begin with a feeling rather than a fully formed brief, and developing that into something physical is part of what is being commissioned. Nothing is binding at the enquiry stage // it is simply the beginning of a conversation.
How long does a commission take?
Bespoke pieces typically require four to eight weeks from agreed brief to delivery, depending on the scale and complexity of the work. That timeline begins once the deposit is confirmed and the brief is agreed // not from the point of enquiry. Murals and large-scale installations are scoped individually based on the site and project requirements, and a realistic timeline is agreed before any commitment is made. If you have a specific deadline in mind, mention it at the enquiry stage and every effort will be made to accommodate it.
What does the commission process look like?
Once an enquiry comes in, the first step is a conversation // by email, or by call if the project warrants it. From there a concept is developed, refined, and agreed. Once both sides are happy with the direction, a 30% deposit secures the commission and the work begins. The remaining 70% is due on completion, before the piece is delivered or installed. The work does not leave until it is finished. Not deadline-finished. Actually finished.
Are the works framed?
Yes // every piece arrives in a frame that was made specifically for it. Black timber, handmade, architectural in its weight, built bespoke to the dimensions and character of each individual work. The name of the piece is stencilled directly onto the frame by hand // not printed, not labelled. Applied in the same tradition as the billboards that define the visual landscape of Greater Manchester. The frame is not packaging. It is the final mark the work carries into the world.
How is the work packaged and shipped?
Every piece is shipped in a handmade wooden crate // built in the same spirit as the work itself. Solid timber, screwed shut, deliberately imperfect in finish but uncompromising in protection. The outside is stencilled and branded, making the crate as considered an object as what is inside it. Shipping is complimentary on all UK orders and is handled via tracked courier. You will receive tracking information as soon as the work leaves. For large-scale or oversized pieces, specialist art courier delivery may be arranged // this will always be communicated and confirmed before the order is placed.
Do you ship internationally?
International purchases are handled through the enquiries page rather than directly through the store. This allows shipping costs, timelines, and any import requirements to be confirmed properly before any commitment is made. If you are based outside the UK and interested in a piece or a commission, get in touch through the enquiries page with your location and what you are interested in, and a full breakdown will be provided.
Are the works limited?
Every original work is one of one. Once a piece is sold it does not return in any form // no print, no reproduction, no edition opened after the fact. Where a series exists, the edition size is fixed before the first piece is sold and never extended. What is listed in the Vault is what exists. When it is gone, it is gone.
Do the works come with documentation?
Yes. Every piece leaves with full certification of authenticity // title, materials, year, edition number where applicable, and signature. Provenance is part of the work, not something arranged afterward. For collectors considering the long-term value of what they are acquiring, that documentation travels with the piece from the moment it leaves.
What is your returns policy?
All original works and bespoke commissions are final sale. Given the nature of handmade, one-of-a-kind work, returns are not accepted once a piece has been delivered. If a piece arrives damaged in transit, this must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence and it will be resolved personally // either through repair, replacement where possible, or refund at our discretion. The 30% commission deposit is non-refundable if a commission is cancelled after work has begun, as it covers the time and materials invested in the brief and concept stage.
Do you take on mural and installation projects?
Yes. Large-scale work for commercial, hospitality, and cultural spaces // delivered at architectural scale with the same visual language and precision as the studio work. Previous clients include Projekts Manchester and Venom Recording Studios. Mural and installation projects are scoped individually based on the site, scale, and brief. Enquire through the commissions page with as much detail about the space and project as possible and a conversation will follow from there.
